Working Principle:

When the compressor operates, the refrigerant undergoes suction, compression, expansion, condensation (liquefaction), and throttling. It then evaporates and absorbs heat at a low temperature of -10 to -18°C in the evaporator.

Chilled water at 0°C continuously condenses into an ice layer on the surface of the evaporator, which is at a lower temperature. When the ice layer reaches a certain thickness and the refrigerant’s evaporation temperature reaches the preset temperature, the defrost solenoid valve is activated—typically using a heat pump mechanism for defrosting—before the next cycle begins.
